What is Wicker Pallet?
Good question, one that I've been trying to answer for quite some time.
So far, I've come up with this:
Wicker Pallet is a music project I started 15 years ago in my hometown of Seattle, Washington. I would spend countless hours in a tiny attic armed
with a Tascam 4-Track recorder, a cheap drum kit and a $100 Fender Stratocaster knock-off, making various tapes for friends and family.
As time went on, things progressed, my collection of cheap instruments grew, as well as my taste and appreciation for different styles of music. I realized that some of these genres were somewhat incompatible and my recordings were becoming schizophrenic by nature. Therefore a second project was started, The Cambium Layer. With that, Wicker Pallet has more of a electronic feel...though still trying to maintain somewhat of an organic vibe, while The Cambium Layer relates to more of an acoustic side. I really can't find another way to classify it.
With that said, destiny brought me to a rural area on the Olympic Peninsula, the studio is now operating out of a pole barn, and my musical influences continue to grow. Albums will be available for purchase soon, in the meantime I'll keep the site updated with songs in the works as well as some older material. Enjoy!
