A simple experiment with vocal harmonies and background noise. I know my vocals are lacking, which is why you hear a minimal amount on the majority of the songs. Though I did realize that multiple layers tend to hide your imperfections to a slight degree….slightly. Regardless, this song is dear to me for some reason.
I have to say it, Boards Of Canada have set the bar when it comes to remixing a song. In this day and age, you cannot simply add a new drum track and perhaps a few effects here and there for a quality remix. You really do need to add your own feel, vibe, style, whatever you want to call it.
The original by cLOUDDEAD deserves much credit in it’s own, they have reinvented the way I have perceived hip-hop, though BOC takes this song to a completely new level. I have much respect to both. Finally, the animation by wobbllylobster took this song to even a higher level. My thanks to all three for this gem. I predict this tune/animation shall go down in history.
Another work(s) in progress, two songs made from one. Basically, one song created from three chords followed by another song using the same chords, tempo and length… hence the reply. I was simply experimenting with the different sounds one could achieve using identical building blocks. Music works in funny ways.
Here’s a newer poster we created for a Cambium Layer show in August, highly influenced by the works of ISO50 and Scott Hansen. Thanks Scott, you have changed my perception of design forever.
Here’s another tune that will be on the new Caustics release. A good friend of mine allowed me to babysit his vibraphone for a few months. I must say, it beats the pants off synth vibes, there’s nothing like the real thing.
