Boeing Dreamliner

December 22nd, 2009 by Erik

So the weirdest thing happened last week. As I was driving home from lunch, I turned the radio to 97.3 expecting to hear some oldies music. Little did I know, KBSG has closed their doors and is now KIRO news talk radio. Anyway, they were doing a bit on the new Boeing Dreamliner, it was in the middle of a test flight and about to land at Boeing field.

I hardly travel and I’m not necessarily passionate about airplanes, though I did think that it would be cool to see the thing land (I guess there was a crowd of thousands waiting at the field). I pulled into our driveway, got out of the car, and BOOM there it was…flying directly over our house with two escorts. It’s hard explain the feeling that came over me, I was in pure awe. Fate or coincidence, isn’t that just weird? Let me tell you, from the ground this is one amazing looking plane. It was a wonderful site indeed.

After a sense of perfect timing, I realized it’s time to practice drums a bit more often. Anyway, here are a few pics.

Sigur Rós – Heysátan

December 1st, 2009 by Erik

To bring in December, I thought this song would fit nicely. This is an incredible piece of music, almost too difficult describe. The visuals complement it perfectly. Sigur Ros is one of the few modern bands that can actually bring a tear to my eye, they need to start putting warning labels on their albums. Heysátan translates to “haystack”, from what I gather the song is about a dying farmer who is looking across his land, reflecting on his life accomplishments. Enough said, hope you enjoy!
